NAVA-VIDHA-BHAKTI
Recitations of the Ramnam:
Om Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram.HINTS TO ASPIRANTS
By Swami Ramdas
For all people there is only one way of approach to God. Tbey must have pure devotion to God and should perform good actions. Bhakti and Karma go together. For -you, to start with, repetition of: GOD's name is the way. Have God's name continuously on your tongue Lead a pure and truthful life. Be kind and. compassionate to those who are in distress. Read the Bhagavad Gita daily.
The ego is hard to conquer. The whole of our struggle is to do away with it. Surrender is the only way. Our personal struggle goes for nothing. It is His grace that should make all things, easy for us. We fret, fume and grumble when our effort proves futile. Instead of this attitude, it would be well to humble ourselves to the dust and take His name and feel always that He is the sole doer. Verily, by His will alone all things happen. Take refuge in Him, make Him your all in all, surrender your entire being to Him, and He will reveal Himself within you and fill every fibre of your being with His radiance, peace and joy.

Ram Naam – the sound of the eternity
was installed in me
by my most revered Gurudev,
whose utterance powered with Siddhi
smeared my body
empatterened my thought and
made me humbler.
Today, when I look back
and read
101 Ram Naam Theme and Thought
I only wonder and ask myself
‘How all these were written?"
Then after pondering
I conclude
more strongly that
I am incapable of
realizing these
dimensions!
Well! Swamiji Maharaj
must have ‘revealed’
those lines the thoughts!
For me those lines
were celestial messages
meant for me to
understand Ram Naam.
So I remain
only a tool
to record
and share
the vision of my Gurujans.
Yet, wherever
I have fumbled
and faltered,
those are my personal
limitations!
I am too mortal
and worst than the worst
of all the Sadhaks.
Yet, this exercise
remains my Sadhana
at the feet of Param Guru.
I bow to Him and seek mercy
and Sri Ram is most merciful.
At the feet of all Sadhaks
Gautam

A DIVINE LIFE SOCIETY PUBLICATIONRAM Mantra: Its Meaning, Method of Chanting and its Benefits, by Atul Thakur
Introduction
Ram Naam (rhythmic chanting of the word Ram) has been the core of Hindu religion. Lord Sri Ram is regarded as the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He is the symbol of courtesy and virtue, and a man of values and morals. He is also known as Maryada Purushottama, which means “perfect man” in Sanskrit. Lord Ram is an example of idealism, as he proved to mankind that he was an ideal son, an ideal brother and an ideal husband. Lord Vishnu incarnated to earth with the aim to eradicate the evil forces of his age. Therefore, Ram Naam itself is a divine mantra or prayer. When Rishi Vashishta gave the name Ram to King Dashratha and Queen Kaushalaya’s son, the Demi-Gods in heaven rejoiced. It is proclaimed that Lord Ram was given this name in order to help mankind attain salvation and overcome obstacles in life. The word Ram is an embodiment of bliss and salvation.
Ram mantra is considered to be Taraka mantra. The Sanskrit word Taraka denotes a star. A star traverses in space and acts as a guiding light. Similarly, a Taraka mantra is that which provides guidance and helps liberate one’s self from the cycle of birth and re-birth. When examined, one finds that the word Ram is a combination of two sounds, Raa and Om - sounds of two very important and powerful chakras or centers within the human body.
Chakras:
There are seven chakras in the human body (I won’t go into detail in this article). The lower three chakras deal with one’s material life while the upper 4 deal with one’s spiritual life. The sixth center is the Ajna chakra, which is located between the eyebrows, is considered the king of all chakras. To become spiritually elevated, the body’s prana or life force has to pass through this center. This chakra is the gateway to higher consciousness and is where the powerful light of the ‘Inner Guru’ resides. The third center or Manipurak Chakra is the king of the lower centers and controls the materialistic aspect of life. Anyone with a strong third chakra will usually have all the material comforts in life. Therefore, one’s material strength is not only dependent on our Karma (actions), but is also dependent on the Manipurak chakra.
Meaning of RAM Mantra:
As mentioned earlier, the word Ram comprises of two parts - Raa and Om. When the two sounds are joined, it forms Ram. The sound of the third chakra is Raa, while the sound of the sixth chakra is Om. By reciting Raa, the karma stored in the lower centers is churned. By adding Om to the end, the churned karma is submitted to the sixth chakra (Ajna Chakra) where the light of the Guru evaporates the karma.
This mantra is also called the ‘mantra of Surrender’ as one is surrendering the karma from the third chakra to the sixth chakra. As karma is removed by the sixth center, the ego is reduced and the light of higher consciousness shines through. A sense of lightness and happiness prevails over the body and gives one the power to help one cross the ocean of samsara or life.
How to Chant:
The chanting of the mantra should be done with a lot of vibrations. Beginning the mantra with Ra, the focus should be at the nabhi (navel) and when the sound progresses to Om, the focus should be between the eyebrows – the Ajna Chakra. Both the sounds must have as much vibration as possible. In order to receive its benefit, the mantra should be recited by prolonging the word Ram i.e. Raaamm.
It is important to note that nothing should be recited or chanted before or after the mantra. In fact, the word Ram itself is sufficient and anything added to the mantra only dilutes its effectiveness. Furthermore, one should be attentive and focused, concentrating on the third and sixth chakra.
Benefits:
Over time whoever chanted the name of Ram became famous, strong and attained salvation. Hanuman, a great devotee of Lord Ram, recited this mantra mentally and served and surrendered to Sri Ram every second of the day. He was able to subdue the powerful planets and their effects and perform miraculous feats for Sri Ram. Swami Tulsidas recited the mantra and become a famous poet, and Sage Valmiki overcame his past karma and became a great writer.
In the current environment, this mantra can resolve any mental and/or physical problems one may face. Just surrender your worries to the third eye (Ajna Chakra) while chanting this mantra, and let the higher power resolve the issues. Of course, one’s prayers should always wish well for others and should never foster any negative thoughts towards any being.
Conclusion:
Our scriptures mention many benefits of Ram Naam. For instance, it is mentioned in Vishnu Sahasranama and Ramayana as well as many other ancient scriptures. So why not chant this mantra and feel its benefits?
Group chanting makes this mantra more powerful and enjoyable. When a hundred people chant together for five minutes, it gives the benefit of 500 minutes of chanting to everyone. Also, thirty minutes of chanting would feel like a mere five minutes if done together, and create a feeling of nirvana.
The author leads a Yoga class at the Hindu Temple, Allentown, PA at 9am every Sunday for 1 hour. Currently, the Ram mantra is chanted in a group every Tuesday just before Aarti and after Hamuman Chalisa recitation at the temple. For any questions or comments send email to Atulthakur7@gmail.com.
Glory bestows in the name of Rama
Significance of Rama Nama as cited in the different scriptures. The information given here on this glorious Nama is just the tip of the iceberg.
'Even if the whole sky were used as a paper and all the waters of the Universe were used as ink, it would just not suffice to pen down the glories of Rama Nama!'
Rama Nama the Name of the Name!
Every other mantra in our scriptures have their own names. Rama Nama is the only Mantra that is called ‘Taraka Mantra’. The word ‘taraka’ means the one that helps us cross. It helps us cross the ocean of ‘samsara’. It helps us cross the cycles of birth and death. If it is chanted as 'Rama', then it is a Nama.
If it is chanted 'Ram', then it is a Mantra.
Thus spake the Sages
Our ancient Sages and Rishis have glorified the Rama Nama.
Rama Nama gets exactly the same importance in Saguna Upasana (worshipping the Absolute Truth as a Being with a form) as does the Pranava ('Om') Mantra in Nirguna Upasana (worshipping the Absolute Truth as formless).
Rishi Manu shows that the Rama Nama has links to all the other mantras that ever exist.
In Syavana Smriti (Syavana is the name of a rishi), Syavana says that the Rama Nama is the essence of all the Vedas, Shastras, Itihasas and Puranas.
Sage Vasishta meditated on the Rama Nama for quite a long time. Hence he wanted to name the Almighty with the same Mantra that he had chanted.
The Yoga Connection
In the philosophy of the Yoga, 'Ra' is considered the 'Mooladhara' (the point of origin of the power of Kundalini) and 'Ma' is the 'Sahasrara' (the destination). Hence, when the Rama Nama is chanted in the right tone and manner, the serpent power rises and hits the head or the 'kapala' Thus, by merely chanting the Rama Nama, one can become a Yogi.
Shiva's family Mantra We are all aware of the story of the competition between Ganesha and Muruga on who will get the divine fruit. Muruga, angry that the fruit was not given to him, went to Palani. In order to appease his anger, the competition was conducted again, when Muruga diligently circumambulated his parents on his peacock at great speed. Ganesha, on his part, wrote 'RAMA' on the sand and circumambulated it, as that is equivalent of going around the whole world! Pleased, Siva honoured him by crowning him the leader of all his minions - the 'bhoota ganas' and thus he acquired the name 'Ganapathy' and 'Gana Nayaka'
In Vishnu Sahasranamam, Lord Siva asks Parvati to chant the Rama Nama all the time. A good teacher is the one who practices what he preaches. It is obvious that Siva, being the Supreme Guru, (Jagadguru) Himself chants the Rama Nama. When parents do something noble, would not the son follow the same? Muruga and Ganesha chant the Rama Nama always. That is verily their ‘Kula Mantra’.
The Lords' favorite!
The ‘sthala purana’ of Kasi says that the deity Kasi Viswanatha initiates the Rama Nama to each and every being at the time of their death, in their right ear.
The Lord Dhakshinamurthy observes silence because He doesn’t want to waste any time without chanting the Rama Nama.
The Sun God ever chants the Rama Nama as he is proud that Sri Rama came in his dynasty.
The Devatas' favorite
Sage Vishwamitra took Sri Rama and Lakshmana to the forests for 'yagna samrakshana' (protecting their fire austerities from the demons). Out of the boundless love for Sri Rama, Viswamnitra wanted to gift Him something. A sage that he was, he had no worldly possessions, nevertheless, he had performed abundance of austerities. He had penanced for a very long time on the 33 crore 'Devatas' with mantras for each of them. He initiated Sri Rama with these Mantras.
As soon as the Mantras were initiated to Sri Rama, the 'devatas' appeared before them! Viswamitra was jealous of the fact that those devatas who could be invoked by him only after severe penances, now appeared the instant Sri Rama chanted their Mantras!
In our Shastras it is prescribed that when the devatas are invited, they can be installed in one of the three -- water (that is the reason we install 'kalas' - pots of water for japa, kumbabhishekam and the like), fire (that is the reason we perform homam) and the third being, installing them into one's own body (during Sandhyavandanam, Godess Gayathri is installed thus). Here, when the devatas were invoked, they refused to go back to their abodes. Hence Sri Rama invited one and all of them into his body. Thus, by merely chanting the Rama Nama, one gets the benefit of invoking all the 33 crores of devatas as well.
Ramayana is filled with instances where merely the Name ‘Rama’ has solved so many miseries and disentangled so many situations.
One Name for all Gods
Generally people can be divided into two broad categories: the Shaivites, who worship Lord Shiva as the supreme, and the Vaishnavites, who worship Lord Vishnu and His forms as the the supreme Being. The most significant Mantra for any Vaishnavite is the 'Ashtakshari' (it contains eight letters in sanskrit) mantra 'Om Namo Narayana' .
The chief among the Mantras for the Shaivites is the Panchakshari (5 lettered) mantra, 'Om Nama Shivaya'. Without the letter ‘ra’, ‘Narayana’ would read as ‘Nayana’ that means one without a way (‘gati’); without the letter ‘ma’, ‘Namasivaya’ would read as ‘Nasivaya’ that means inauspicious.
So the jiva akshara (life giving letters) 'Ra' and 'Ma' of these two Mantras are put together to form the Rama Nama!
Anyone chanting this Divine Name thus worships both Shiva and Vishnu at the same time.
Rama Nama in today's world
Sri Bodendra Saraswati Swamigal, Kabir, Samartha Ramadas, Thiyagaraja, Bhadrachala Ramadas, Papa Ramdas, Bhagavan Yogiramsuratkumar and innumerable saints in the recent past have advocated the Rama Nama and also showed how the Rama Nama can perform miracles.
Sri Ramakrishna initiated Swami Vivekananda into the holy 'Rama' Nama. It is the power of that Divine Name that made him establish this Universal Religion of Brotherhood called Hinduism all over the world.
Mahatma Gandhi, in his final lecture before independence said, 'We have tried our level best. Now let us all chant the Divine Name together. Only that has the power to get us independence.' Not one of his prayers passed without Rama Nama Kirtan.

"Learn to say these blessed, saving words with your heart full of Divine passion. Learn to rest upon them as you would on a rock. They were ground out of the heart's blood of one of India's greatest saints. Meditate upon them. Make them the flesh of your flesh and the bone of your bone. Rest under the protecting wings for ever and ever. You are great. Compared to your nature this world is but a pinch of star-dust. Lightning can but smite your body at worst, not you. The sword can but cut up your body into pieces, not you. The fire can but burn your body, not you. The water can but drown your body, not you. Why fear then? O Thou Soul! SHIRDI SAI BABA IN THE LIGHT OF SUFISM
This book is essentially about the Maharashtrian Sufi saint, Sai Baba of Shirdi, who was dedicated to living an ascetic life of poverty, totally dedicated to God. Apparently, the flamboyant, charismatic contemporary Swami Sathya Sai Baba has appropriated the persona, life-story and to some extent the teaching of Shirdi Sai Baba, by claiming that he is the reincarnation of this saint.

THE GOSPEL OF RAMAKRISHNA
The realm the Divine Energy
They also say that when these are properly analyzed, they appear as dreams, that the Absolute Brahman alone is the Reality, and all else is unreal. Even eternal Energy (Sakti) is like a dream, unreal; but you may analyze and discriminate of thousands of times, you cannot transcend the realm of Divine Energy (Sakti) unless you have reached the highest state of Samadhi, super consciousness. The very thoughts like: "I am meditating," "I am thinking on the Absolute," are within the realm of Sakti. They are the manifested powers of that Eternal Energy. Therefore the Absolute Brahman and the Eternal Energy are inseparable and one. The existence of one implies that of the other; as fire and its burning power.

“Kundalini” literally means “the curl of the lock of hair of the beloved.”
Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan® is considered the most comprehensive of yoga traditions, combining meditation, mantra, physical exercises and breathing techniques; it is a Raj Yog, encompassing the eight limbs of yoga into a singular practice of excellence and ecstasy. “Kundalini” literally means “the curl of the lock of hair of the beloved.” This poetic metaphor alludes to the flow of energy and consciousness that exists within each of us, and enables us to merge with – or “yoke” – the universal Self. Fusing individual and universal consciousness creates a divine union, called “yoga.” The Upanishads, dating back to the fifth century B.C., describe the kundalini, although the oral tradition reaches back even further into history. For thousands of years, this sacred science and technology was veiled in secrecy, passed along verbally from master to chosen disciple.

Is an Artificial Brain possible at all ? Are motivation, fear, emotions, instincts, and all other 'special features' we humans possess required and why ? What about the consciousness and subconscious ? Would an Artificial Brain work without the possibility to lie and on what base should stuff like attention and intuition be implemented ? Are neural networks the only answer or are other options preferable ?

bhaktatommy - If you give Krishna something, you will receive an immesurably greater gift from Krishna
Bhakta Matus - For the devotees and Vaishnavas it's the daily delight of developing one's relationship with the Lord in ever fresh and wonderful ways. (Shrila B.P. Keshava Goswami Maharaja)
Guest - krsna-basoti basoti boli parama adare bori - As my dwelling place I choose with the greatest of reverence and love the transcendental abode of Sri Krsna.
Srinath - It is indeed a fact that simply by chanting Nityananda Gauranga naam, one very quickly acquires taste and bliss while chanting. The more we are honest, the sooner it happens.
Swami: madhavi tithi bhakati janani...jatane palana kari...Follow Ekadashi, the mother of Bhakti, with great care and attention.
Swami: I did Ekadashi parana breakfast today with Lord Jagannatha's Nirmalya dried rice and some chipped rice with milk and jaggery. It was ecstatic to fast and remember Lord Gaura Krishna.
Guest - Please advise what is the childhood name of Lord Nityananda kept by his parents
[Modo] - The harmonious bond between the soul and God is known as NITAAI Yoga
Mihir - Never has been nor will be nor is anyone as MAGNIMINOUS as Nitaai. He gives Prema even to those who bleed Him.
bhaktatommy - the difficulties in life are great opportunities to prove our sincerity to Krsna
Srinath - The fastest way to gain transcendental mercy is by serving the Vaisnavas and the fastest way to lose it is by fault finding and criticising especially criticising devotees is a one way ticket to destruction.
navinchandravyas - ask swamiji spiritual questions
Damodara Svarupa Dasa - Thank You very much for the beautiful preaching via multimedia. Haribol!
Mihir - Even the most invincible arrow of Cupid falls weak in front of the arrow of Nityaananda Gauraanga Naam and the Hare Krishna Mahamantra.
Srinath - Nityananda! Gauranga! Hare Krishna! May this be a new year filled with more devotion and love for all of us. May we always be allowed to serve the lotus feet of our guru, Swamiji and all Vaisnavas and the Lord! Jaya!
[Modo] - Nityananda Gauranga Hare Krsna
bhaktatommy - Even if my feet are being held in fire I cannot blame anyone for my decisions or actions
bhaktatommy - Great Souls appreciate other living entities, others are in constant competition with each other
Swami: There is no justification in this world to hear or commit offenses towards devotees. No one can force us to hear or commit offenses. However strong the superior force is, we have always the power to decide our own destiny and discriminate between good and bad. Lord Gauranga would not give love to even His own mother due to a very small offense she apparently committed towards Lord Advaita Acharya.
Mihir - Dear Sandhini, I think such a person cannot be considered superior or advanced who forces others into Vaishnav aparadha.
Mihirt - One gets immense spiritual strength by reading the entire Navadvipa Dhaam Mahamaya.
sandhini - When a superior forces a person to commit Vaishnava aparadha, what does the person in their control supposed to do?
Mihir - Through association of devotees comes faith and through faith neophytes chant regularly. Association is the key.
Swami: Today is Saphalaa Ekaadashi. One who fasts & chants today will become free from grief & anxiety & be famous in this world, liberated & enter Vaikuntha at death.
Mihir - Thank you Swami Gaurangapada for revealing the most merciful Holy Names of Lord Nityaananda and Lord Gauraanga to us.
Guest - Bhaja Gauraanga, Kaha Gauraanga, Laha Gauraangera Naama Re
Srinath - When the acarya praises us, we should not become proud, but understand that we have a new higher standard to live up to.
Swami: Yesterday's Gaura Arti was so ecstatic. I was doing the worship. It took me a long time since after offering the items to the Deities, I was mentally meditating on each Acharya and offering them the lamp, water, fan etc. Somehow I am more attracted to worshiping our Acharyas than the Lord Himself as They are my deliverers.
sandhini - Pronam Neben, please give us some Nitaai Katha.
Swami: Today I realized how one remains transcendental in the association of advanced devotees, unaffected by the surrounding material influences and distractions.
Swami: Today as I was chanting in Shrila Bhaktisiddhanta Prabhupada's Samadhi in Mayapura, I desperately prayed to him to ensure that I will not take any more births in this painful material world.
Swami: Just like Nityaananda is the most merciful Name & Lord, Ekachakraa is the most magnanimous holy place in India. Please visit there and loudly chant NITAAI!
Swami: Orissa is flooded by Mahanadi river but Puri Dhaam is untouched. No surprise. Lord told Shiva: Puri is unaffected even at time of Mahapralaya (311 trillion yrs)
Swami: There is no failure in Bhakti Yoga becos progress in chanting Naam is carried forward with the soul life after life till we become 100% perfect & attain Goloka.
Swami: There is a magnet in all souls' hearts known as Paramatma, Who directs us to Him. We need Guru, Bhakti books & videos to hear voice of this inner Supersoul.-SG
Swami: NGHK Remain calm, serene, & dependant on Lord Gauranga Krishna. Remembering always that Lord is our maintainer & protector is the goal of Bhakti Yoga.- Swami G
Swami: Real Truth means to understand Vaikuntha, the original spiritual creation since this material world is a reflection. Without GauraKrishna, we would not exist.SG
Swami: It has been one of my most ecstatic preaching Yatras ever. Please watch the videos.
Swami: When I was offering butter to Lord Krishna on Janmashtami, I realized that He wanted to be covered with butter...navanita vilipitanga...I understood why the Lord felt so much ecstasy by applying the butter of the gopies all over His Divine Body.
Swami: I had one my best Janmashtami's ever. As I was chanting the 108 Names of Lord Krishna, I got fully absorbed in the Pastimes described in each one of those Divine Names and everyone else who heard Them also felt the same.
Swami: Today is Shri Janmashtami, the most Holy Appearance Day of the Supreme Lord Krishna. I hope all of you along with your families, friends etc. will remember Lord Krishna as much possible today and receive His divine blessings.
Swami: Loving Lord Gaura Krishna means loving to chant His Holy Names always.
Swami: Buzz box added to Live Chat Room.
Swami: Feeling genuinely unworthy is the qualification required to receive Lord Gaura Krishna's causeless mercy.
Swami: God's Names have the great power to touch our lives & the lives of others when they hear them from us.
Swami: Nothing is accidental in life. All is due to our past karma & sanction of God. Change it by chanting.
Swami: Every second the clock is ticking to our death. If we forget to chant God's Names, then all is lost.

Significance of Tilak
There are different types of Tilak, each differing in its significance. Tilak is worn on the Ajna Chakra, the centre of forehead, on the space between the eyebrows. Tilak is applied on the point at which the third eye or the spiritual eye is believed to open. All the actions of humans are governed by this specific point. Application of tilak is customary and infact, most of the Hindu ceremonies begin with the application of tilak. Well, Tilak can be made by using sandal paste, turmeric, kumkum or ashes. Depending on the purpose for which Tilak is applied, the material is chosen for preparing the sacred forehead mark.
Sandal: White sandal symbolizes purity, calmness and tranquility
Kumkum: Red kumkum signifies power, vigor, dynamism and stability
Turmeric: Saffron colored turmeric stands for wealth, fortune, prosperity and opulence
Holy Ashes or Vibhuti: Vibhuti represents dedication, devotion and commitment
Tilak can be applied in varied forms as a mark of auspiciousness as well as blessing. Numerous mentions have been made about Tilak in the ancient scriptures such as Vedas and Upanishads. Rig Veda has given an elaborate description about the life of Goddess Usha, the consort of Lord Surya. She is portrayed as wearing a red dot on her forehead that signifies the rising sun.

Om Sai Ram,CONCEPT OF GURU AND SIGNIFICANCE OF GURU POURNIMA
(Sri Saileela July-August 1991)
Gurur Brahma Gurur Vishnu Gurur Devo Mahesvarah Gurur Saakshat Para Brahma
Tasmai Shree Gurave Namah"
The above stuti addressed lo Guru mentions 'salutations to the noble teacher Who is Brahma, Vishnu and Lord Parmeshwara and Who is verily the supreme Brahman'. The Guru is like Lord Brahma because he creates the character in children. The Guru is like Lord Vishnu because he protects the good qualities in his students. The Guru is like Lord Shiva because he destroys the bad habits and bad qualities of his children.
Guru poumima is observed as the day for honouring the Guru. The word 'Guru' is a Sanskrit word. 'Gu' means "darkness", 'ru' means "removal". So the word 'Guru' means the one who illumines the intelligence and removes ignorance that is obstructing the full development ol his pupils. The word 'Guru' also has another meaning 'Gu' means, "not limited by attributes" and 'ru' means, "not affected by appearances". So the Guru is one who is free from prejudice and treats all pupils with equal love.
Pournima refers to the full moon with all his sixteen aspects being illuminated by the sun. In man there arc sixteen black spots : the six enemies, viz., lust, anger, greed, infactuation, pride and envy, the two gunas, Rajas and Tamas and the eight types of conceit (mada) based on lineage and scholarship, wealth, youth, beauty, position and penance. It is only when man gels rid of these sixteen evil traits that he will be able to realise his oneness with the divine i.e., attain self-realisation. Only Guru enables man lo achieve this stale of fulness (poomalva). In this universe Lord Dattatreya (i.e., Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva) is the Guru for all.
In Mahabharat, Lord Krishna, the preceptor of Bhagvad Gila, is also considered as Guru.
"Vasudeva Suthain Devam
Karnsa Chanuru Mardhanam
Devaki Paramanandani
Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum"
Lord Dattatreya incarnated in the form of many saints from time to time such as Adishankaracharya, Swami Akkalkot Maharaj, Swami Gajanan Maharaj, Sadguru Sai Baba etc. to transform mankind and take mankind towards the path of self-realisation thereby establishing dharma.
In Shri Sai Sat-charila (of English version, page no. 10) Bhagwan Baba once gave a beautiful discourse in the Masjid regarding the necessity of a Guru, saying that a Guru was like a guide who will lake us to our destination (sell-realisation).
Bhagwan Baba said, "The path through which one has to travel in life is like passing through jungle were there are wolves, tigers and other wild animals in the form of unending desires, ego and pride and huge mountains and deep ditches in the form of anger, passion, jealousy etc. II we take a guide (i.e., Guru) with us then there is no difficulty as he will lake us straight to our destination (self-realisation) avoiding wolves, tiger's, mountains, ditches etc."
Lord Shiva Himself accepted his son Subrahmanya as His Guru, when He learnt the meaning of Pranava (Omkar) from him. Avatars like Rama and Krishna also submitted themselves to their Gurus, Vasishtha and Sandipani respectively, for getting self-realisation and that only virtues necessary for such progress are faith and patience. Sai Baba also surrendered lo His Guru Venkusa lo open the gates of wisdom and for attaining spiritual powers.
There are eight types of Gurus
(1) The BODHA GURU - Who explains the rules and regulations given in the Shastras.
(2) The VEDA GURU - Who directs the minds of his disciples (Shishyas) towards God.
(3) The PRITA GURU - Who removes doubts and purifies the mind and heart.
(4) The NISHIDDHA GURU - Who teaches how to discharge certain duties.
(5) The KAAMYA GURU - Who teaches the performance of good deeds.
(6) The SUCHAKA GURU - Who teaches six types of yoga.
(7) The VAKSHAKA GURU -- Who teaches the principles of yoga.
( The KARANA GURU -- Who is able to confer to ability to merge into the Eternal Absolute (Brahma). Who can effect transformation of the human into divinity.
Sat Chit Anand Sadguru Sai Baba is Karan Guru Who looks after the entire welfare (both secular and spiritual) of His devotees. There is nobody in this world who is greater than a Sadguru and blessed is he, who gets a Samartha Sadguru to guide him. As Baba often said, "Our true Guru is God alone. He transcends all gunas. He is beyond all forms. He is the only one Who can dispel the darkness of ignorance and light the lamp of supreme wisdom." Baba always used to utter "Allah Malik Hai". Baba's path is the easiest one. Constantly contemplating at His lotus feet will take us to Him. Sadguru Sai Baba is Omniscient, Omnipresent and Omnipotent and we can directly appeal to Him; cast our burdens on Him and derive all benefits from Him. As Baba often says, "Why fear when I am here." "Know that I am always with you, prompting you, guiding you. Live always in that constant presence." Baba often underwent and still undergoes great sufferings to save His devotees from dangers.
Complete surrender at the lotus feet of our Sadguru Sai Baba will confer on us liberation. There are three steps in Baba's Guru Marga. First is accepting our Guru as God; second is Shraddha i.e., having complete faith in Baba; and third is Saburi i.e., wailing patiently, that Baba is with us and He knows, what to give to us and when. Let us pray to our Sat Chit Anand Sadguru Baba to open the gates of wisdom and tear the veil of ignorance in us.
"Asato maa Sadgamaya Tamaso maa Jyotir gamaya Mrutyor maa Amrutam gamaya
Om Shantih! Shantin! Shantih!"
May Sai shower His grace on every body and brings peace and harmony in nation.

Nonduality is the philosophical, spiritual, and scientific understanding of non-separation and fundamental intrinsic oneness.
For thousand of years, through deep inner inquiry, philosophers and sages have came to the realization that there is only one substance and we are therefore all part of it. This substance can be called Awareness, Consciousness, Spirit, Advaita, Brahman, Tao, Nirvana or even God. It is constant, ever present, unchangeable and is the essence of all existence.
In the last century Western scientists are arriving at the same conclusion: The universe does indeed comprise of a single substance, presumably created during the Big Bang, and all sense of being - consciousness - subsequently arises from it. This realization has ontological implications for humanity: fundamentally we are individual expressions of a single entity, inextricably connected to one another, we are all drops of the same ocean.
Science and Nonduality is a journey, an exploration of the nature of awareness, the essence of life from which all arises and subsides.
"You need not to push life about. Just flow with it and give yourself completely to the task of the present moment, which is the dying now to the now. For living is dying without death life cannot be. "
~ Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj
"There's a single book that I reread every year: "I Am That" by Nisargadatta Maharaj (1897-1981). Every time I reread "I Am That," I close the book convinced that the world would change entirely if everyone in it took Nisargadatta's wisdom to heart."

Amritanubhav (The Nectar of Mystical Experience)
swayamsevaks of Sangh Parivar. We have the passion to work for the Hindu Society and India. This is our attempt to share some of the songs that inspire us day in and day out.
The goal of our sadhana or practices is the highest Joy that comes from the Realization in direct experience of the center of consciousness, the Self, the Atman or Purusha, which is one and the same with the Absolute Reality. This Self-Realization comes through the three streams of: 1) traditional Yoga* meditation of the Yoga Sutras, 2) the contemplative insight of Advaita Vedanta, and 3) the intense devotion of Samaya Sri Vidya Tantra, the three of which complement one another like fingers on a hand. (more) - Yoga - The goal of Yoga* is Yoga*. (more) About the word "Yoga": Throughout this website the word "Yoga" is used in its traditional meaning of realizing the union of the individual and the universal, rather than the revisionist meaning of Yoga as a physical fitness program. (more) Definition of Yoga (from Yoga Sutras): Yogash chitta vritti nirodhah. Tada drashtuh svarupe avasthanam. Yoga is the mastery of the activities of the mind-field. Then the seer rests in its true nature.

Dattatreya Jayanthi By Sri Swami Sivananda Om Namo Bhagavate Dattatreyaya DATTATREYA Jayanthi falls during December-January on the full moon day of the month of Margaseersha. His story is told as follows. Anusuya is quoted as the model of chastity. She was the wife of Atri Maharishi, a great sage and one of the seven foremost seers and sages. She was well established in the Pativrata Dharma, the main elements of which are devotion to husband and regard of him as God Himself. She did severe austerities for a very long time in order to beget sons equal to Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, the Hindu Trinity. Once, Saraswathi, Lakshmi and Parvati requested their husbands (the Trimurtis) to test the Pativrata Dharma of Anusuya, by asking her to give them alms with an unclothed body.
All the aspirants wake up at 4 am and meditate on the Lord. From sunrise to sunset there is unbroken recitation of the Gita. The Samputa method is used, that is, before and after each verse the following Samputa is recited: Sarva dharmaan parityajya maamekam sharanam vraja; Aham twaa sarvapaapebhyo mokshayishyaami maa shucha. Thus, between two verses, this verse is recited twice. This is an extremely efficacious method of earning the Grace of the Supreme Lord and the Gita, the Mother.
THE SIGNIFICANCE OF EKADASI By Sri Swami Krishnananda Ekadasi is a Sanskrit word, which means 'the eleventh'. It refers to the eleventh day of a fortnight belonging to a lunar month. There are two fortnights in a lunar month—the bright and the dark. So, Ekadasi occurs twice in a month, in the bright fortnight and the dark fortnight. The special feature of Ekadasi, as most people know it, is a fast, abstinence from diet.
"To fill the human heart with compassion, mercy and universal love, which should radiate to all countries, nations and peoples of the world. To make a true religion of the heart as the ruling factor in one's life. To enable each one to love God, love all, serve all, and have respect for all, as God is immanent in all forms. My goal is that of oneness. I spread the message of oneness in life and living. This is the way to peace on earth. This is the mission of my life, and I pray that it may be fulfilled."

Ojas: The Vital Nectar of Life If we desire perfect health, it’s crucial to eliminate the ama stored in our body and focus on producing ojas, which is the essential life energy. A Sanskrit term meaning “vigor,” ojas is the pure and subtle substance that’s extracted from food that has been completely digested. Ojas circulates throughout the bodily tissues and heart, sustaining the physical self, bringing clarity to the mind and balancing the emotions. In short, when the body produces ojas, the vital nectar of life, we feel blissful. The cells sing with happiness because both the mind and the body are receiving the nourishment they need.
Ojas is the power which helps you rise into the Beyond: that is called Ojas. So you will find how necessary is chastity of life. The more you have got that Power within you, the more you are healthy; even if it exceeds what the body requires, it will help you in the Beyond.
Ojas Life Energy to Eliminate Stress Anxiety and Depression,Healthy Heart,Expectant Mother,Improve your Memory & Intellect,Eliminate High Blood Pressure,Happiness and Peace
Ojas is both the gateway and the container. It is the gateway between consciousness and physiology, between spiritual and material. As the subtlest physical, it is a container. It contains the flow of cosmic energy (Prana) from Atman through the individual. Ojas is the first material expression of consciousness. It is both manifest and unmanifest. It pervades the body, has a yellowish-red color, looks like ghee, smells like puffed rice, tastes like honey. It is similar to balanced Kapha; only not as heavy.
